Questions about a FOWLR tank

I am waiting on the tank to cycle.
So with that statement, here is the list of items I would "like" to have in the tank. I would like some advice on "critter" and species compatibility.

Tank info is in my sig.

Fish:
1 X Coral Beauty Angel
1 X Perc. Clown
3-5 Pajama Cardinal's or Green Cromis'
1 X Scooter Blenny (this would be an optional fish)
1 X psudo-chromis
(Wife wants a yellow tang, but I am hesitant about putting one in)

Inverts:
Turbo Snails
Red/Blue Hermit Crabs
2 X Peppermint Shrimp
1-2 X Cleaner Shrimp
Assorted starfish (chocolate chip, bristle, etc....)
Arrow Crab

I think that's it for now.
Any suggestions, or concerns, please feel free to post.

Well, without a skimmer your bioload will be a challenge with fish.  In addition, the rule of thumb is 1" of mature fish for every 5 gallons of water.  With your LR and sand you have about 30 gallons of net water which equals 6" of mature fish.

Coral Beauty - 4 to 5"
Clown - 5 to 6"
Pajama Crdinals 2" each or - 6 to 10"


Remember fish swim laterally and not vertically, thus a hex tank has that limitation.  Tangs need a minimum of 48" of lateral swim room.  With a skimmer, 2 Pajama Cardinals and a Percula Clown should be compatible.  Angels, Blennies, and Psudochromis can all be on the aggressive side.

Snails (18) and Scarlet Hermits (10) would be good as well as just two (a pair) of shrimp.  I prefer the Red Skunk Cleaners over the Peppermints.  A half dozen Nassaurius Snails for your sand bed as well as half dozen each of Ceriths and Margaritas for the glass and LR.

One Chocolate Chip star fish and no arrow crab as they can become predators of the small fish that are required by the hex evironment.

I guess I cannot complain, the tank and all the equipment was free.....anyway.
If I get rid if the smaller HOT filter, and get a skimmer, I can add just 2 cardinals, and the clown. That's it? WOW, that kinda sucks.
I was looking at a Sea-Clone 150 for my 35 gal tank. I do not see any reason to get, or spend $$$$ on a remora. I know they are the best, or one of the best, but for this tank, I just don't see it. I could be wrong.......
Has anyone tested the 3-in-one skimmer/mechanical/UV filter????

 

My Seaclone 100 sits on my 20 gallon long and rocks. All I have is one Blue Damsel and a Flasher Wrasse. 4" of fish even with even that much skimming capacity. I've got one Red Skunk Cleaner, and six of each, Scarlet Hermits, Nassarius Snails, Margarita Snails, and one Conch. A few Limpets came with the LR. I've got a few mushrooms, palythoa polyps, green star polyps, and a Rose BTA. It's a full but happy house.
