im getting ready to plum in my pump and wanted to run a couple things by you guys/gals. i want to run my chiller off of my return with two wyes.the pump will be a mag9 without my wyes ill be at about 750 gph so i dont think this setup will eat away at my head loss. i did a little drawling to better explain.

one thing that i did not draw in was the two t's i might put in to control two phosban reactors.

Water is going to follow the path of least resistance. I'd move the valve up between the two y's. Your chiller may not get enough flow or possibly to much but by moving the valve you'll gain control of the flow to the chiller.

Depends.... what chiller do you have? I had a Artica DB-75 on my 90g with a Mag 9.5.... the problem is that the chiller could not handle full flow... but the chiller itself added 4' of head. So 4' for the chiller and another 4' to the tank and I did not have enough left to supply my sump. There is no way you are going to run all that stuff with a 9.5.

Also... doing it like you want is not going to work. Pressures wind up being the same on the outlets and there is no difference in pressure to flow either way. Getting things to flow right plumbed in parralel is hard.

The best way would be to have a once through.... all the flow of the return pump going to the chiller then the display...the next best is just to pass some of the flow through the chiller and back to the sump. Yes it is sort of a recirc and not as good, but it will still work fine. You should still get enough cooling.

You need to find out what the flow requirements are for your chiller.

What size tank is this for?

Then you need to get a bigger pump.

do you "know" you need a chiller? Many ways to get by without one.

last year my tank was running, but i had to tear it down because of 85+ temps on 90 degree days. i live on the 3rd floor and in summer my apt gets hot.

Not that bad.. well not that good. You may very well need one, but there are things you can do. Move your lights up, put a fan on your sump, minimize pump heat... or use a chiller.

The wye will not work too well. No way of knowing how much flow you are putting through it. My chiller was a 1/5 hp... with a 1/3 you can probably put a 9.5 through it... you will just have to check how much loss it will give you and if the 9.5 will give yo uenough flow overall with the 4' rise to the tank.

You wil lnot have enough pump to run the reactors though. Get more pumps for them and you will probably need a chiller. Get one pump big enough to do it all. Run the reactor effluents back into the sump off the one return pump and put what you need up to the tank through the chiller.
