I've been wondering for alittle while and I figured this would be one of the best places to ask everyone about them. I've seen them many times before but not many people would recomend them but I think that was because they kept saying that I should just go ahead and get a bigger tank and build everything up from scrach. I plan on doing that on down the road but for now I just wanna keep it simple and nice.

Anyways, what are the pros and cons of these tanks? I was thinking the 29gal would be my choice to go with.

I've seen lots of people run reefs out of those things, but I don't know anyone personally who has. There are lots of good threads on this site for them. I remember one where a guy explained how to cut a spot off the stand to attach a refugium light. Can't remember if it was just black plastic that was cut off or if it was actually a hole cut in the stand. Do some searching and you will find a lot of info.

Hi Cody, welcome to 3reef. I know how you feel about people suggesting huge tanks. I researched quite a bit before going with a 24 gallon Aquapod for my first reef tank. All in one tanks are a nice starting point because they have everything you need to start the hobby. As you get a better feel for things, they can be upgraded. There will come a day, however, when the all-in-one will not be able to fill your needs the way a custom build can. But, the Bio Cube should keep you entertained for a couple of years until you are ready for something new. That is the route I went and I would suggest it to any newcomers.

One day I plan to go to a large saltwater tank but that will be when I'm moved into a house of my own and I can have as much fun with building the case that it will be housed into, but for now a Bio Cube style setup would do just fine for me. Thanks for the advice guys!

Good luck and don't forget to make a build thread once you get started.
