    Hello all,

    I have a 29 gallon Biocube and i'm unfortunately downgrading due to my move to college.

    I want to get a 3 to 8 gallon nano tank but i'm not sure what setup or tank to get.

    I've checked on some tanks and i saw the JBJ Picotope but it doesn't seem good due to the HOB and the new JBJ nano cube RL seems fine to me because of the refugium filter but i'm not sure regarding the lighting.

    I'm new to the whole nano aquariums so i need some help.

    Anyone have some suggestions regarding a good set up for a nano including the tank, filter (if needed HOB), powerhead, skimmer if needed, and etc.

    Yes i was aiming for a 3 to 8 gallon tank a 14g would be a hassle to move around if needed.

    Oceanic 8g Bio-Cube. Ran 1 for almost 2 years. Great lil all in one tank.

    Cadlights makes very nice nano tanks. You can use LED or T5HO lighting and nice filtration.
    PicoAquariums makes good tanks along with ADA.

    I got one of these off Craigslist for 40 bucks with a custom glass top. Im not fan of the HOB filter and the stock light.


    Overall nice tank but it could be a modders dream ;-)

    Thank you all for your help.

    The Nanowave isnt what i'm looking for either im looking for a rimless which is why the Picotope interested me but im iffy about the HOB.

    I looked at the CADlights one but didn't find any nano tanks, picoquariums has some but not sure and as far as the ADA everything is out of stock. :p

    I found some Aqua H20 AQ-40 in my lfs but not sure about it, I read some reviews and they "tend" to break.

    Also regarding the filter i found a filter called Supreme Skilter 250, any suggestions regarding that?

    Also i'm thinking about some of the T5 HO lights and that seems to be perfect for what i'm looking for.
