    I was wondering what HQI is?
    What is probe and pulse start? And which is better
    Differences between magnetic and electronic ballasts. Thanks guys

    If I remember correctly (no guarantee) the electronic ballasts are newer technology and preferred. I think they run at a cooler temp extending their life and require less juice to start up which helps the bulbs flickering during startup and extends their life. If you have a choice, electronic is the way to go.

    Everything alarsue is true of electronic ballasts, but many still prefer to use magnetic ballasts with HQI (double ended) bulbs. The mag ballasts generally drive the bulbs harder, so you get more light. Personally, I use electronic and wouldn't switch, but some people will do anything for more PAR!
