    so i did this once before but half assed
    aquaclear 100 with live rock rubble and i cut the filter basket to about 2inchs and will be filling it with cheato

    i had detrius build up before in the fuge hang on so what hermit crab would best eliminate that blue dwarfs a dozen or so?

    * first time i just threw some rock in

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Honestly I do not believe any hermit will assist in keeping detritus from building up in the live rock rubble. If you have adequate live rock within the display, live rubble in the HOB will not contribute to the nutrification process as much as it will accumulate detritus.

    its not to remove any nitrates but only to benefit my pods and tank i have plenty of liverock the rubble that will be in there is pieces i dont want in my display
