it was 345. now it seems like its around 315-330.

im ready to make water, should i go for it or not?

 

Do you have a DI resin chamber on your unit? My TDS always reads zero. As soon as I get a reading of even 5 TDS I change the sediment and DI resin filters.

 

yea this is without RO or DI. just carbon and sediment.

I passed over this thread because it did not mention RO or RO/DI in the title but I can offer help. I answered you other thread by the way since it says DI in the title.

Prefilters and carbons have very little to absolutely no effect on TDS, they are there to protect the membrane from suspend solids or TSS and chlorine not TDS or dissolved solids, The difference is TDS is in the 0.0001 micron range so is much much smaller than the 5 micron filters you have which should be 1 micron or less by the way. TSS or suspended solids can be anywhere from say 0.1 micron up to visible with the human eye so get trapped by the prefilter and carbon block is they are sized properly. 5 microns is pretty big, slightly better than a screen door. Look for replacements in 0.5 to 1.0 microns in 6 months when you replace the filters the first time.

What RO membrane and flow restrictor did you buy?
