If they look tan in the LFS :) Keep making it your favorite shop they seem to under stand the beast or at least giving it what it needs to live ..

I decided to gently touch it and some very small bits did float off.

    Ammonia is still at zero.

Not good. Best to pull it out of the tank now as it's not going to get any better. Use a net to get it out to avoid any more bits getting loose in the tank.

Well after some heartfelt deliberation there was only one thing left to do.

ROTFLMAO sorry you lost your anemone but here is Karma for your sense of humor Love it good by cruel world just comes to mind when I see it . Really not hard to keep animal problem is any anemone should never be put in a new tank I'd wait a yr or more at least a yr. Many make this mistake and LFS will sell it rather then tell the customer It can take them a long time to die like a clam get good actinic light bulbs and some proper white and you will be good to go after the tank matures a bit.

Another problem that most don't know, and I know it does depends on species, but some places do "dye" their anemones to look "prettier" which only starts the process of a slow death. In an established healthy tank it may recover from dye, but not a guarntee. Sorry for the loss, it is a lesson I too learned with the seabe. I now have a BTA, doing great. Now if I can only get my clown to visit it!:-/
