Alright, I've been wondering this for awhile now. I've recently bought several tiny frags of coral I would love to have large ones of.

I have a tiny acan head and these tiny favia frags.

    This candy cane too.

Now my question is will the acan head itself grow bigger into a head like this? How long for it to grow itself, not growing new heads?

Same with the favia and candy cane. Will they actually grow bigger like these?

I see how tiny each of these frags are, the size of my fingernails, and I didn't know if the heads themselves will grow huge like these or will they just sprout new heads and stay this small?

    Thanks.

Also, I got that flower looking coral as an extra from my coral shop and I have no idea what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It really depends on the species and individual genetics of your frags. I'm pretty sure most acans get to be around that same larger size, but the favias definitely have a wide range of polyp sizes. I have a favia that's got polyps about the size of a framing nail head, and I've got another that has nickel-sized polyps.

Oh believe me I do just checking up on if I can wait for them to grow really big or invest in the bigger heads.

Gotcha, now is it fine to leave them on their frag disc thingies and the acan/favia will grow new heads etc on those?

I hate frag plugs and usually remove the plug and mount the coral to a piece of rubble rock suitable for it to grow onto while acclimating. If I can't remove it, I clip the edges of the plug down then mount that to another rock. So, yes, you need to mount it on a surface that it can grow onto, in a shape that you would like.
