Woke up a little bit ago- did a fish check and found my rabbitfish stuck to one of my powerheads. Pulled him off, looks like some serious damage to the one side that was stuck. He is having trouble swimming but he is still breathing and trying to swim. Anything I can do to help save him. Don't want to lose him he is a beautiful fish!
    Help Please!
    Thanks so much!

Sorry mate - chances are the fish was already dying.
I dont think healthy strong fish get stuck to powerheads.

My rabbitfish liked to lay around though. As of yesterday night at feeding time he was very healthy, he ate and showed no signs of being ill. Right now he is resting on the rockwork, he is still breathing, he moves his eyes to look at things and he will swim short distances. the side he was stuck on looks damaged but no damaged to his fin. It looks like it is already starting to get better. you know how rabbitfishes have color discoloration at times, he did when I pulled him off the p/h but now he is already back to his regular color. I hope he makes it, he was beautiful way cooler than my foxface that I had.

Unplug your powerheads for a bit so that doesn't happen again if you're not watching the fish. That may give him a chance to recover better. Unfortunately, Phoenixhieghts is probably right, and your fish would end up dying on the sandbed or behind your rockwork, or floating anyway. Sorry, hope it pulls through.

Do fish ever recover from this type of thing? I did unplug the powerheads already. I hope he gets better.

If the fish wasn't sick or dying before being stuck to the powerhead (which it most likely was or it wouldn't have gotten stuck in the first place), it's recovery will depend on how bad its injuries are. Is the fish eating?

Yes I just got all of them checked a couple of days ago. And the fish was eating yesterday but I put a little food in a little bit ago and now it is not. But I fed like 5 mins after I pulled him off the powerhead.
