    Thought this was a FOWLR?

I had a bad Cyano bloom in my old FOWLR setup I went lights out for 2 weeks, literally not a light on it at all and I took the wife's dressing screen from the bedroom and put that between the tank and all the rest of the room to try and block out any other light hitting it, never had a problem after that 8)

    Vacuum up what you can.

    Increase flow if possible.

Increase frequency and amount of water changes for while...

    Will disappear pretty quick.

(Always used to work for me)....

    PS
All newer tanks go thru a few cyno spells...eventually they will subside.

Does not seem to be a problem in a more mature tank. Have not seen any sign of in mine last couple of years...:-/

I just have one small colony of button polyps that came in on the LR, like 6 polyps. I was just saying that for anyone with this problem this seems like a quick and easy (not to mention free) way to knock out your algae in a weeks time. If you have corals that can handle the lack of light that is.

I did increase flow before I turned the lights off, I added the maxi-jet with the mod. Before I only had one koralia 1 in this tank that I transfered up from my 20g. I'm sure this had something to do with my problem to begin with.

Tangster- I wish I had a skimmer to turn up! Maybe soon.

    Thanks for the replies.
