I am new to the saltwater world, so forgive my questions if they are a stupid :).

Anyway, I have two quick questions. I am currently cycling my 28 gallon bowfront tank, which I plan on eventually turning into a reef tank. I can see myself adding a couple very basic corals, but it may take a while before I actually start adding very many.

My first question is, should I wait until I am looking to add coral to upgrade my lighting from the basic light that came with my tank? Would changing my light from this basic "came in a kit with the tank" light to something more powerful for coral stress out my fish?

The second question has to do with a particular light fixture. I am looking at getting the 4 lamp T5HO light from Aquatic Life (4 Lamp T5HO Light Fixtures). This seems like a nice all in one unit, that's not out of my price range. The reviews seem good on multiple sites... but my real question is, will this limit me much in coral (or even potentially clam WAY down the road) livestock?

    Thanks!

Well i would say yes upgrade. From what u said that will be a t-8 bulb and 4 t-5 would be gold because you will not be keeping advanced corals in a 28 or cuz you are so new to it. On that fixture I am not sure on quality! :)

That will be fine and not limit you once you replace the stock bulbs with top of the line bulbs like ATI, KZ, UVL and Geisemann.

Would you recommend doing that right away, or waiting until it's needed by the coral selection?
