quick observation, is it possible?

    i got a hitch hiking starfish i decided to let it loose in my tank. it turns out i think it eats corailline algae, every time i see him, i noticed a white spot where the corailline used to be. is it possible? thanks

    Yes it is likely, the starfish is most likely from the Asteriniid family.

    It is very possible . I had had them leave a white trail through coraline.

    ok thanks, i didnt know they ate corailline algae though. well i just found it split in half, hopefully two stars soon ;)

    It poops out still living coralline spores. In effect, it's spreading your coralline similar to the way that bats eating fruits poop out plant seeds while flying and reforest areas.
