That's fine although 83f is borderline, you could try running a fan to blow across the water when lights go on, just to keep it at a constant temp....

    borderline.

I run my ceiling fan (about 12 feet above the tank) when it gets too hot and that brings it down (I've gotten to where I can preemptively turn the fan on now).

My lighting also keeps my tank @ 82 during the day. I keep my heater set @ 80 for less of a temp fluctuation during the day. These settings keep me safer during colder/winter months and a tad on the edge during the hotter months.

Just use a fan to blow air between the light and tank and you should be good just make sure you turn the fan off when the light goes out or you tank will drop in temp quickly

i just picked up a coralvue retrofit fan, with temperature speed sensor, 40$ completely dead silent, and very very powerful. just run it on your daylight timer.

its identical to the icecap fan just 20$ cheaper.
