Ok, so basically I just heard from my teacher that not only are we going to have to apply for the fish that we are going to get, but we are also required to have training in handling the animals.
Also, we are probably going to have to stick with animals who are from a particular place in the ocean. ( that they would normally interact with each other in the wild). In order for us to get approved to be able to have fish.

I'm not particularly familiar where each fish is from, so I was wondering if you guys could help me to produce a nice fish list that would be nice for a 50G tank that is from a specific place? We decided that since we are going to that, we are probably going to set up 2 or 3 fish tanks from different places in the ocean.

It is only about the fish, so we are still going to be able to choose coral that we like from anywhere.

    SO, let the ideas begin?

oh man, you have no idea. This is going to be a PITA.
We have to write a proposal that basically has a protocol for every single inhabitant on the tank. We must provide everything that we will do with the fish.. We have to have an euthanasia protocol in case a fish gets sick and cure procedures.
We need to have in our protocol things such as "how is this going to have benefit towards humans" and such...

that's why we need to make things easy for us and just choose to do a reef tank with species that belong to that area. Or at least fish that will usually interact with each other in the wild. Less room for objections in the board

Im a fan of colorful wrasses, I really like the idea of adding snowflake or picasso clownfish. I like chromis.. I know all of these might not be from the same place, but maybe you guys could maybe help me out with choosing 4-5 fish for my tank?

what's a good place where you can find really colorful fish? maybe indo pacific?

Liveaquaria usually specifies where they come from but as to actually interacting you can probably YouTube diving videos and see if certain fish that are interacting with eachother on a reef as long as they will fit in the tank be kind of have a piece of the natural ocean in your tank lol. That should help you get approval especially is you cite the videos as actual proof that they live together in nature

By interact I don't mean they must interact. I just mean that they could find each other in nature. (basically to recreate what they would see if they were in their natural habitat).
ill look into live aquaria. I would still love it if you guys gave me some suggestions that maybe I have not thought of. :)

I'd still recommend using youtube videos or actual photos of reefs in the wild then you can just pic your fish from that
