I just got a Sea Line Flow accelerator that would attach to the end of my return hose. Currently it is just a PVC elbow that is not able to be directed. Has anyone used something like this and is it worth it? It says it increases flow up to 400 percent. The main reason I got it though was to be able to direct the return line.

As long as the flow isn't overwhelming it should be o.k. I haven't used one but others have and never said there was a problem.

Its an Eductor and how much they help depends on how much flow you have coming out of that return line. It takes pressure to make them operate properly and without the pressure, they are simply fancy return line ends. Whether they are worth it depends on what you expect to get from them. If you want increased flow in the tank and your pump can provide the flow, they are worth it. If you want adjustable flow and your eductor gives that, then its worth it but it can be done cheaper with LocLine. It just depends on what you expect from them.
