    I did it :)

My only desire with airport security involves time and ease of use. They can scan my entire body and look at all the sexiness it offers if it involves me stopping in front of a camera or set of equipment, without having to take off shoes and metal and all that crap. I know airport technology isn't really up to that yet, but I feel that they can invade my privacy all they want if it means I'm getting on my plane the fastest way possible. I also think we should give up being "politically correct" and put profiling to good use. Not racial profiling, because any terrorist or smuggler or whatever can be any race. But if someone looks like they could be trouble or looks like they could be hiding something, obviously I'd give them an extra look. It's not about race, as many people argue. It's about protecting normal people.

It'd be nice if airports had a "fast lane". Similar to a "20 items or less" checkout at Walmart or something. If you have minimal bags and are dressed for the flight instead of being dressed for whatever the heck you're doing after the flight and you know you have nothing to hide, it's annoying to have to go through security behind people too incompetent to listen to airport security instructions.

Thankfully I've always flown on odd times of the day, so I've always breezed through security. It's always been painless. Just walking on through la la la.

One thing I do hate is when security personel interrogate you or suspect simple objects. A friend of mine had to hand over a belt or something (I forgot) because it was "suspicious" I guess. I mean, the kid was in a highschool group going scuba diving in the bahamas. I don't really know what's so suspicious about that, especially when everyone else made it through security easily in the group. They should suspect objects and people that require extra attention, not a kid from a school group. A school group that flies through that airport EVERY YEAR.

when i went to spain 2 years ago i forget what airport it was but we didnt have to take off our shoes or anything metal, we did it cause we were so used to doing it but the security said we didnt have to, it was a small airport though, i would think though that like every airport around the world would make you take your shoes and metal stuff off through screening.

oh one thing that i forgot to add, my mom has an artificial hip, so whenever she goes through airport security she always sets the machine off and she just shows them her card and they let her go through without a problem, she also sets some stores security off when she comes in or out

Did it, I fly very often an have never had a problem with security(except when trying to carry a bottle of anti-parasitic fish medicine, for a friend's tank).

    done.

The problem with airport security is that we are always fighting yesterday's threat. First with the shoes, then the liquids, now we need the scanners. Instead of trying to detect the means of the attack we need to identify likely perpetrators through background checks and profiling. We need to focus security resources on those more likely to attempt to bring down a plane rather than my mother or a 5 year old.

    I took it :)

What I get pissed about is that some of these security checks are "purely random." If that's the case, how do I get pulled EVERY stinking time I'm traveling??

Done :) I do agree with more security over privacy. IMO I would feel more comfortable to know everyone in the plane got checked with imagery scanner and know they all are safe than to have the doubt..

Survey completed. I travel all the time for NASA. Security stuff really doesn't bother me... ot that big a deal and there are bigger issues for me to worry about.

    Hope the survey response helps.
