hey guys, I just picked up a 125 gallon all glass drilled tank, and the 2 braces happen to be right where my metal halides are. Is there any way for me to remove these 2 factory top braces, and add in 3 new braces on the top of the tank? I would put one dead center, and 2 1.5 ft from it in either direction. I would use 1/4 inch acrylic and screw it into the existing plastic frame or either that or silicone it on, if you think thats strong enough. Let me know what you guys think, or if you have done this before. Thanks much, Rodney

I dont think anyone would advise this as those are very important structure braces and your tank will bow and break open if it happens to not hold. I would buy diff lights before I cut the braces.

Well, braces are cut so no turning back now. It has to hold, as people who make there own tanks silicone glass to the sidewall glass as braces. Im using stainless bolts, so im not too worried about my new braces holding. It will be made out of 1/4 inch lexan, 3 inches wide. I know that isnt going to break.
