Quiet One 4000.. Any good?

Im looking at a Quiet One 4000 pump on craigslist for a new return pump. Anyone have one and like it??

i have 2 quiet one pumps an 800 and a 3000 and love them both, the ones i have are very quiet running and have never had a problem with them.

 

Do you think that the 4000 would be powerful enough for my 75g?

 

In my opinion yes i used the 3000 on my 55 as a return pump,
the 3000 is a 780 gph and the 4000 high head is a 980 gph.

 

Should I get that one or a Mag drive 7??

 

that i cant say i have never used a mag drive pump but never herd anything bad about them eather.

Cool thing about quiet one is that it can run wet or dry (under water or out of water). My friend has been running his for 2 years now.

 

I use quiet one 3000's, it is a great pump, and have had no issues with them in about a year and a half of use .

You can buy a new QO3k from fosters and smith for like only 50 dollars. The magdrive pumps are the old standby of pumps. They work pretty well, but waste a ton of electricity. A quiet one 3k uses 40 watts compared to the mag9.5 that I used on my old 90g that used 93 watts.

 

I run a quiet one 6000 and love it! Switch to it from a mag 9.5. The mag was noisy and it ran very, very hot.
