    we got the caribsea live sand for 30 lbs for like 12 bucks, the LFS was having a sale. either way. 40lbs for 35 bucks sounds awefully expensive. maybe 25 bucks for a bend you over LFS, but 35 bucks is robbery.

    That's what I was thinking but macro has a 40lbs bag for 30, plus shipping....

    not sure if it will help - but whenever I buy anything from my LFS i try to "Bundle" as much as possible so the initial purchase value is a little higher. This gives me more room for negotiation. Also - paying in cash I avoid paying sales tax all together. Just a thought. I have always LOVED negotiating purchases.

    They sell caribsea at pets-mart 30lbs for 20 bucks Thats pretty good I think.

    Shows what my LFS knows...they told me to use play sand because live sand was too expensive. This was 6 years ago. May explain why they are out of business.

    I used it and it because I knew mo better at the time. I added some crushed coral on top. 6 years later all is ok with my tank though.
