I started smoking consistantly when I was fifteen and im almost 19 now. I have quit atleast 5 times. Even though I was younger I went through a pack in atleast 3 days. Towards the end is was a pack a day more if I was drinking. Drinking ruins my quitting attempts everytime. Haha. But the way that I have done it was to chew gum alot. I couldnt afford any of the alternatives so I just got really irritable with everyone and angry for the first two weeks. After that its really not that bad. Just keep thinking of a smoke free life. Which is much better for you. I didnt realize how much damage I had done until I quit. When Im working out cardio still kills me because of it. Haha. I wouldnt recommend chewing either. I did the same thing and ended up getting addicted to both and being a complete nicotine fiend. lol

I smoked 2 packs a day in Iraq. When I got back, my wife asked me to stop. I tried dipping, patches and gum but nothing could get my mind off a wonderful cigarette. I heard about electronic cigarettes and thought I would give them a try. The second I got it, I never needed another real cigarette. It gives you the "smoke", the throat hit, the nicotine hit, and fulfills the oral addiction. If your interested you should check out http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/. Do your research and get a decent kit. Don't fall for the gimmicks that you see in malls or hear about on the radio. If you try a bad kit and it doesnt work for you then you will likely be turned against e-cigs. So be sure you read that forum I listed and see which one they suggest. When I started out, the Joye 510 was a real big hit, then I switched to the Janty EGO, and currently I use a Janty EGO-T (T just stands for a "tank" system which allows me to hold a days worth of juice in the cartridge instead of having to refill every hour)

Hey you could always just switch to pot? Haha kiddingggg. I'm a dippin man myself. There's nothing that hits the spot like a big ol' pinch after a good meal. I smoke at parties and what not, but packs these days are SO expensive. It's crazy. I have a few buddys that quit, that are serious sunflower seed fiends now haha. But I suppose thats better than cigs. Good luck to ya brother.

personally I just quit cold turkey and had zero withdrawls or difficulty...YMMV

....Some say its a matter of will power but IME thats BS...
