Unfortunately, today marks my first invert loss, my Skunk Shrimp Jacques :bigcry:. I still can't figure out why we lost him, but my best guess is starvation?
Good bye buddy, I will miss you . And in memory, here are my two favorite pics of him:

Thanks cuttin. I would like to get another one. Does anybody who keeps them target feed them? And if so, what is the food of choice?

Never had to target feed as they were smart enough to grab the flake food (Spirulina flakes). They would run around the surface of the water, upside down of course, grabbing as many of the flakes as they could hold (usually two or three small flakes). Then they would sink to the bottom and pig out.

I only target fed when I was first putting them in the tank. At that point I was feeding whatever else I was feeding!

I usually feed my a clipping off the silverside I feed to my larger GBTA. just the tail section usually makes him happy.
I don't usually target feed him though, I usually can drop something close to his vacinity and he swims out and grabs it before it has a chance to hit the sandbed. Usually there's a little left over to top-off the hermit crabs as well.

BTW....mine's name is Jacques as well. I guess the Nemo movie had a big impact on all of us eh?.

    Sorry for your loss.

Oh yeah, are you supplementing Iodine?

Yes my girlfriend is actually in charge of naming the creatures, and Finding Nemo is one of her favorite movies. Our two clowns are Coral and marlin, and we had a hippo named Dori as well.
I had not been supplementing Iodine till this morning (thought I'd better start). We have had him for three months though, and he molted about every three weeks, so I thought he was fine with that. But for the last 2 weeks or so, his behavior changed. He was becoming aggressive towards our peppermint shrimp, and was spending much more time than usual sifting around in the sandbed. I didnt think of it much then, but after he died I put those two together and thought it was maybe food related.

I dont know if yours died of starvation or not but it happens. I have target feed all of my CS and all have died, sooner or later. Heres a video at feeding time.
