After 5 1/2 years my male Maroon has died and became a meal for my anemone. is this normal life span for a marron clown and do the hosting anemones usually eat the corps?

sorry for your loss. I also lost a coral today I removed a 4 x6 lobophyllia from my tank today as it turned white on center and edges. I wish I new for sure it was the right thing to do as I have never seen that before and did not want to risk the rest of the tank. Any way I don't know if the anemones will eat it but the craps will.

Well......I think your maroon died of old age. As for the anemone eating the corpse....doesn't surprise me a bit. That would seem to be the natural progression of things. Nothing goes to waste in the wild. If it died there......Dinner is served. Sorry about your loss dude. Do you have any pics to post of her?

I am not a fish grief counselor but maybe a shot of whiskey will help. For you. I would hate to lose a five year pet. As for your female I would guess she will always be alone. When my wrasse jumped from tank all the fish (damsels, tang horse-face)seemed to moap for a day. They seem fine now.
