I hear you, you have everything planned out and have to wait until the tank says go. Be strong your plan will make it work great.

Well.... my tank has completed it cycling process as of yesterday.

Now its time to have some fun with this tank ;D

I put in a clean up crew consisting of 12 turbo snails and 10 hermit crabs.

I also got my purple tang from tank before back in.

I added a softball size ball of chaeto in the fuge.

    Life is good :)

It was definitely an investment...... It was made and paid for over a time span of about 6 months.

I know you have a good reason for this (no sand bed) and I NEED to know why. I have begun to loathe my sand recently. I'm thinking of not using live sand on my next tank and nuking the live rock.

Just wanted to run strictly macros

BUT.... Since I started the ecobak pellets.... and have a strong feeling my chaeto will die out from it... I will no longer be using that side tank as a refugium.

I have been thinking about purchasing one of those boostleds and starting a frag tank... Have my tank make some money to cover its operating cost and then maybe some extra for the pocket.

So this has been altering my coral buying strategy.

Your tank is looking great. Love the Acros. Do you notice a big difference from the tear down?

Yea... i do... they arent dying in a week :) I added the two acros last weekend. visibly they are happy. great polyp extension. Mille has great polyp extension as well. Monti been in for two weeks. Im expecting it to take off like wild fire in a month.

I have stumbled over a hurdle with some nasty slime algae... I believe it was from the ecobak. I had too much flow in the reactor feeding my tank all the nutrients. I cut back on the flow and with in days saw an improvement. Now all the sime is all gone... still get a fine layer of brown algae on the sand bed over a few days.

So all is good with the tank. All lps are doing great. Acans get quite large. and all others are visibly happy.
