Well, I didn't get to whatever was ailing my tang in time. I was upstairs when my wife turned on the aquarium lights...

    "John?.....You better come down here!!!"
    "What's up?"

Don't ya just love conversations that span the household.

    "It's the Tang.......and the anemone."

    Not good.

When I got down to the tank, my condy was trying to eat my yellow tang. Now, the condy is about seven inches across. The tang was about 5 inches long. The anemone had the tang's tail in it's mouth and was trying to swallow it whole. Meanwhile the large hermit crab....who is always looking for something dead to munch on, was attached as well. And from the looks of it, he had been attached for awhile. There is no love lost in a saltwater aquarium. So I gently pulled him out of the anemone and shook the crab off. Then I cursed myself for not taking a pic. As bummed as I am that my tang bit the dust, that would have made a worthwhile snapshot.

So, in memory of my yellow tang.....faretheewell.

awww sorry for your loss John! I noticed yesterday that my firefish is now gone along with my lawnmower blenny. I'm not replacing them. Are you going to get another tang?

I actually got a hippo tang a few days ago. Pics are on my thread. A very nice 5" specimen for $40. As for another YT??.......I got that for my wife. I am going to look for another kind of tang with the same body shape or close to it. Maybe a powder brown (white cheek).
You should have seen him before he died. That was an older pic. It had to be a parasite of some sort. He did not die from lack of feeding or incorrect diet. Melafix did not work this time around.

EDIT: My six year old daughter just turned on the music. Had to share. Was it Hannah Montana. No. Was it The Jonas Brothers? No. It was ACDC's new album. I love her taste in music. She must get it from her old man.

was that yellow tang eating healthy? it sort of looks like it has a sunken in belly to me.. maybe it was unhealthy that's how the anemone got a hold of it? and the hermit already being on it before it got to the anemone. Could be that it was unhealthy and that's what caused it? just a guess from that picture, sorry for your loss though :S
