So as i have been sitting here for the past 2 days making up r/o water for my 125g build i had a thought that ran threw my head. i have a 75gpd r/o unit. so lets say i get 70g a day from that of pure water. but then how much water is being wasted? could be a silly question but one that i would love to know the answer too ;D oh.. and is there anything that i could use this water for? instead of just putting it right down the drain?

    70 clean = 280 waste. That's at the recommended 4:1 ratio

+1! Also you should really add a DI unit to that unless you like Cyano and algae! Trust me, I thought RO was enough until a big cyano problem! So i bought a RODI! within a month GONE!

You can use that water for houseplants, flushing your toilet, not a whole heck of alot else! i'm gonna save mine to water my garden in the spring!

Depends on your system. I have an RO/DI system and I am 1:1.

wow! thats a shocker i was thinking only maybe double. but 4 times is crazy! im not too worried about it but was just thinking if its too much i dont want to run it as much as i do because then my landlord might get angry because i dont pay for my water lol. but i usually only fill a 32g rubbermaid can once a week so its not like im using that in 1 week but 2 lol
