Just invested into a 75 gal tank, and figured an R/O water filter is in need, im new to bigger tanks, what is a good and reliable brand that you all use? and should I buy them off the internet?

Also, when running the filter, should I just run it the day before to get enough water for the water change? How and how often do you all use your RO filters? Sorry for all this, I have no idea how long or when to run a RO filter!

If you have an LFS near you, then just get your RO there, theye probably have it for about 5$. If you have your mind set on one, you will need a trash bin to store the water in. As for running time, it all depends on the gallons per day of the RO and what you need, you can make some then store it in a trashbin with a lid. Finnallyyou do not use ro for water changesuse saltwater

Spectrapure is one of the best out there and they always seem to have some sort of sale on their product.

Make sure and get a RO/DI unit for making your saltwater. Use the RO/DI water for topping off the tank. You should make at least 10 gallons every time to keep the filter working at its best.

It is one of the best investments you can make for a reef tank.

I make up water a day or two in advance and always at least 10 gallons at a time.

    I have a 55
I use two 5 gallon salt buckets to transfer the water. My lfs charges .50c per gallon for ro which is what I do
