Do Green tip and Rose BTA hate each other. I had a green BTA which I though was dead, but as soon as the RBTA was add the Green Meany appeared. Yesterday when I got back from work it was on top of the RBTA, today the Rose is destroyed and the Green one is much nicer looking fully open on my live rock. This was $80 down the drain. :-[

All animals are territorial and will compete to colonize. Your 65 gallon tank represents a very small area in the reef as BTAs are very large and coexist in colonies, but with much more real estate available

    A real bummer, ouch!

There may be only one suitable spot in your tank for a BTA.

When BTA split do you have to remove one?

I though my orignal BTA was dead did not see him for weeks, had a little bit of system crash.

Only if you notice that they're competing for space. When my rose split, the halves moved to opposite corners of the tank so I haven't seen a need to remove one yet.
