Heres a few pics of cl. I will be trying to mount sea swirl as high up as i can without getting salt spray. Mounted the power strips and made a splash cover to hopefully keep them dry.

This looks awesome. Your old tank is very beautiful, I can't wait to see this. The rockwork and plumbing certainly look impressive enough :)

    Thank you 2434.
Finished installing the cl this week. I made some screen frames to keep fish in and also support the sea swirls. The side ones are silicone down and the back one i tried magnets so it would be easily removable, but the magnets are not strong enough to hold it on. My wife suggested Velcro so I'll have to give that a try.
Started filling the aquarium and had a few small leaks in sump baffles( had it sitting there for 2 weeks and never thought to leak test) so i sealed them and waited a day then had huge leak in overflow bulkhead. I think maybe some sand got in it so i removed it cleaned it siliconed both sides and reinstalled (no easy task) . Hopefully we'll get some water today.

Were running with no leaks woo hoo. Put some velcro on the top frame and it worked excellent. On to lighting, I bought 2 250 lumen bright retro kits from reef specialty with 2000k reef lux bulbs.. My current tank has a ice cap 660 running 2 actinics so i plan to split it and run 2 more to new tank. Right now i have a 110 actinic and a 40 cool white bulb installed, I'm really thinking these will be used just to lengthen light time but am not real sure. For a hanging system on my other tank i first tried a hinge system (it would blind you) Then i tried a pulley(felt like you were picking up a car) so this time i used the kiss methed and went with a chain and 2 hooks. I actually have a pair of yo yos I'm going to try. They say they are good for 22 pounds but i don't know what this frame weighs so i think i will leave the chains on for a safeguard. Well here is my light rack is not as nice as many i have seen but hopefully will get the job done.

A couple of the projects i've done the last few days. I had planed to move my existing fuge to this tank, but given the cheap container, a 100 pounds of sand, and the angle it was going to take to get it in i decided to just start fresh. I built a water station mostly out of stuff i had laying around. The fans are coravue they dont move the air that my icecap does but will see how they work.

I'll start with the good. I'm loving this closed loop. Once i found the sweet spot between sand storm or blowing water out the top this thing really gets the water moving around. The not so good is the dorso. I may be over doing it. It is a eheim 1262 with a 1 1/2 drain. The water is either on the bottom of the 90 or it is flushing. I've tried varying the height on both ends, airline down the pipe and put in a trap. The only thing i can think of is to dial the pump down. I wish i had started with a herbie and am trying to decide if it's worth it to start over.

I can't wait to get my new tank set up cuz the new has a closed loop too. Mine wont have sand to worry about though I think. Do you already have the tank full and what not? Is that why your torn about replaceing the style of oerflow?

There's no live stock yet. It's really more about space. Because the fuge is higher than the sump i don't have room to get valve above the tee. I think i will try it but with 2 valves. What the hey it's only money lol. This is a few of my other fish if anyone is interested

No more bubbles hooray. Changed the durso to a herbie and it's working much better. So i think that I'm finished with setup.;D Overall I'm pleased with how it turned out if i fail i don't think i can blame it on the setup. Now lets see what we can do about stocking it.
