Which would you pick? its a 60g reef and I could get either...other fish include a Melanurus Wrasse, a pair of Percula Clownfish, a Kole Tang, and I will soon add a bicolor blenny and either a helfrichi firefish or redstripe hogfish.

P.S. I have enough pods to support a mandarin.

I would go with the mandarin as long as the pods are enough and you have a fuge and enough LR to keep the population high. Thats that fish I want anyways.

I dont think radiant wrasses are reef safe. also you already have a wrasse so i would go with a mandarin. they have funny personalities and add a ton of color

I would go with the wrasse. They're easier to keep, as Steve mentioned, but they're also actually out all the time, unlike the mandarin. I hardly see my mandarin because they typically stay on the rocks, and don't mind being in crevices.

I would go with the Wrasse. I wanted to get a Mandarin for my 40 gallon. Even though the tank was loaded with pods I didn't want to risk it. So instead I added a one inch wrasse. He ate almost all of the pods in less than a week. Luckily the wrasse eats frozen foods, too.

Okay thanks for the help, I was leaning toward the wrasse anyway. A mandarin is still a risk and I wouldn't want to kill such a beautiful fish.

The wrasse, it is reef safe and from the same genus as your melanurus. They should get along fine after they establish territories or a pecking order.
