How long did you cycle your tank before adding corals and or fish?

This may not even be a lighting problem but a n00b issue.

Did you test before you added? Still might be cycling, or maybe they're just struggling with acclimating to such a young tank? Either way, from what I've read the radions need to be cranked way down and slowly brought up....

How far from the water are your lights? When you started fresh you used dry rock/ dry sand? at what point did you add your corals/fish?

lights are about 7-8 inches off the water and have lexan covers over the tank
dry marco rock and wet live sand
i added a few fish a week after added the rest of the fish a week later
then about a week after that added the coral

You probably should test again...ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. How much rock and sand do you have? Seems like too much bioload too quickly. But if all your params are good then it could be just an acclimation issue with the lights.

However, what sort of flow do you have?

And what types of corals do you have?
