I bet you are frying your corals. My radios fried alot of mine I believe even though I didnt see bleaching, they just started looking bad and receding.

Dr. Tims, BioSpira, etc are decent products. They do what they say they will do, which is speed up the cycle. What they won't do is mature a tank. The only thing I have ever found to do that is time. It simply takes time for the tank to get in balance and things start to look right. I cycled my 60 with Dr. Tims, and it was fish-ready in a day or two, however, I really did not have good looking corals for a couple of months or more. The radion, in my opinion, is not part of the problem. Start it out around 50% and raise it 5-10% a week. Probably no need to get to 100%, as most people that I am aware of are bleaching before it gets to 100. I run the overall intensity at 85%, with the whites turned down to 40% and it seems to be what the Dr. (not Tim) ordered.

Yah after reading and talking with others on this subject the radions are not in fault but it is the owner. Sorry to say but you jumped the gun and rushed with not testing regularly.

    Happy Tanking My Friend.

i have one radion on my 93 cube, and its at 60%, (up from 40%) and thats still too much light for most lps i put in there. so if your above about 60% then your way too much light.

    my 2 cents:

firstly, I personally dont believe in any of these "miracle" products that cycle your tank in 2 weeks. infact one of the most interesting parts of when i set up my very first system was seeing the rocks and sand bed come to life. nature and time has always done the best and most stable cycling.

secondly, what corals exactly are we talking about and what fish do you have in there at the moment?

also keep testing its the only way to find out whats wrong in the water, assuming the water is the problem.

i have moved from a 4t5 bulb setup to two radions and at their highest they are at 14k 100% for about a couple hours (roughly 1130 till about 1330). never did any lighting acclimation. the changes iv seen is actually some of my corals taking up more color.

I have a 125 and my corals looked best at 45% especialy SPS. I have them at 65% most the day with a peak at 70% and I killed most of them. Now I have SPS growing in shade on the bottom... yeah im turning it down to 55-60

I have told alot of my customers this when it comes to LEDs

    1. Never start higher then 20% If its a controllable unit
    2. Keep it at 20% for at least a week
    3. Raise it up to 30% and keep it there for a week

What you want to do it keep the rise of the intenstity so little and like one of the people said above, your corals will tell you when you went to far.

I had a personal tank where the corals have always had LEDs on them, I didnt pay attention when I first put the radion on it was at 100% right off the get go while I was learning how to program it, needless to say i lost a beautiful blasomusa colony and some zoa colonies, I was able to save the rest. It can fry them that quick.
