I'm brand new to the led and just setup my radion gen 2 over my 36g bow front. Right now I am using the shallow reef mode at 50%. I am just finishing up my cycle so I have nothing living in the tank yet, just playing around trying to find what I like. Does anyone know what intensity I should be running at once I start adding livestock? I would hate to start cooking corals! It's mounted about 8 or 9 inches from water line

At peak performance don't go over 70%, if you're not acclimating any corals right now, set it at 60%, and wait till you have your parameters in good ranges. Make sure you know what light was being used for your frags when you purchase them. Buying frags that are already in LED lighting will acclimate more comfortably. If they are in PC, or MH, LED can be very intense at first, so keep it at the edge of the light ring (or in a shaded spot at first) and slowly move it into the light over a few week period. Echotech has a really good support team, so if you need anything answered, they are quick at responding.

My radions cooked EVERYTHING at 70% with a 8-10 week ramp up from 40% I am keeping mine on my 125g at 45-50% right now at 18k-20k spectrum and not having an issues. I would stay below 50% on a 36g for anything except SPS personally.

Thanks! I have a couple weeks to play around with it before I get my first livestock. And my Lfs is running rations too, so that should help with acclimation

My buddy has a 50g cube lit by a Radion Gen 1 with TIR lenses and runs his wide open. every color at 100%. He doesn't even used the dimming ramp up and down. He just has the thing on a timer. Not trying to say that the advice given is not accurate for some, I just wanted to point out that there is nothing more powerful about LED light than other forms of light. It may be the quality of light that is the difference. He is one of the few that runs the fixture at the spectrum that Ecotech's engineers designed it to be run rather than customizing it. I think he took a week or two at most to acclimate.
