Radions

I was thinking about buying a set of Ecotech Radion's. Do you have to have a computer to use them? I'm torn between the Radion's and Vega's. I know you don't need a computer for the Vega's due to the wireless controller. Please give feed back if you have experience. Thank you

 

You don't have to have a PC, but you can customize it more with one.

 

Yeah, you can run it without a computer, but will be limited to the preset color temps installed on the unit. However, I'm not sure how you would program your start/end times? Regardless, if you're looking for advance customization (sorta a big sell for the Radion), you'll def need a computer.

 

+1, you don't need one, but ultimately you will want one...... but from the looks of it you probably have a computer since it doesn't say your typing this from your (insert mobile device here). You don't have to keep the radion hooked to a computer, and as long as your happy with the settings you don't need to hook it to a computer again so the need for one is quite minimal really.

 

I post here using my iPhone all the time and it never says anything about mobile

 

This is true, you could borrow a computer, set up the radion, and be done with it. HOWEVER, finding the right graph (for you) is the tricky and potentially time consuming part...but also the fun ;D

AI's are also awesome units, and were my 2nd choice, so don't really tortue yourself over this. You should be quite happy with either one!

 

Can you use a tablet?

 

If it is a windows tablet/ has a usb port you should be able to but you need the port to communicate or you would have to buy a wireless (I believe for gaming systems) connector to get the radion to connect over the net.
