    Not to sound like a schnur here, but having a low PH makes it acid rain. With PH of 8.2 to 8.4, sea water is fairly basic. Given that neutral is 7.0, if you were putting runoff water into your tank, it would have a PH below 7.0... Sure, things might not "melt" but that would be way too acidic for your critters. :-[
