rainbow montipora not looking too good...

    Its still encrusting and growing slowly... but the polyp extension is not very far at all anymore. Also, the "rainbow" part of it has turned all to orange (i assume suggesting too much light)
    It is lower in the tank so the flow isnt crazy insane like for my acros but it is decent because it is out on a plateau

    It probably wants more flow. I think the color change may have to do with the age of the growth.

    Do you have any pics? My pokerstar and sunset just went through a little phase where the polyps didn't extend as much, I don't know why, but they are back to normal now.

    they have been stable for months...

    Im pretty much just trying to decide whether i should move it to a lesser light and flow area or leave it where its at and see if it eventually comes around

    It looks as if some parts have died. Do you have anything that would pick at it? I've had hermits crawl over mine causing the polyps to retract for a while or causing minor injuries.

    maybe a snail... i dont like hermits though
    It is all still alive, throughout different parts of the day, different portions of the polyps do extend... just not very far
