Raised Alk can improve color

    i read someplace that raising your alk from 7-8 up to 10 will improve your coals color?
    is this true?:-/

    I'm only familiar with hard corals except zoas but I've never heard anything like this. Raising alk can potentially increase the calcification rate that the coral lays down new skeleton so it could increase the growth speed but I've never heard of any direct link to coloration.
    I suppose there are some corals whose growth tips are more colorful than the rest of the coral so potentially speeding up the growth rate might make the growth tips larger and thus increasing the amount of color present but other than that I can't think of anything that would affect coloration, personally.
