I Managed to get my magnesium upto 1350 from 1100 using baking soda, the next step was to raise calcium from 380 to 450 & Alk from 7 to 10+

So i have been using 2 part Kent cb daily 2 teaspoons every morning while lights off for 1 week now, they are not budging, any ideas

    Thanks in advance...

P.s i do have alternate treatments, seacham calcium and tropic marin calcium should i need to try something else,

Might want to try some of the online calculators for how much to add to raise to your target. Seems to me, the 2 teaspoons your adding is just enough to cover how much your corals are using.

I add that because it recommends 2 teaspoons every 40gallons, which is what i have roughly in my 50 gallon once all rock and items in sump etc are considered, so can i and is it safe to add more then what is recommended?

You mean Epsom Salt? Baking soda doesn't contain Mg.

I am not familiar with the product you are using enough to give you a direct answer, but you can raise Ca up to 50ppm per day and Alk up to 1dkH per day. Don't raise either more than that in a 24hr period.

Yea, I agree... Slower is better to raise up... don't toss all at once. If you find you're using 2teaspoons to keep it at the level, then add maybe 3 teaspoons the next day...and the following till you get it where it needs to be...

    Salifert, calcium, dated 2018, jbl,alk

I know they both work and that the supplent im using is the real deal because when I remove half a litre of water from my main display and add a teaspoon of each the readings are off the chart

Am I still not adding enough, or could something be making it percipitate out the eater, my magnesium is 1350ppm using epsom salt, test kit salifert, 2016
