How are you adding it? It's best to make a stock solution first, then dose that. If you're adding dry powder, you might be getting a lot of precipitate.

When I manually dosed the BRS 2part I dose calcium in the morning and ALK an hour or so after lights out on the display. I dont know if that would affect you or not.

Help stabilize pH at night. Dosing alk can cause the pH to rise.

    Update-
This morning i tested everything after adding 10tsp calcium and 4 tsp of alk
    results are

    Magnesium-1425ppm
    Calcium-400ppm
    Salinity-1.025
    Temp-76f
    Alkalinity-8
    PH-8.0
    Ammonia-0
    Nitrite-0
    Nitrate-0
    Phosphate-0.02

I usually tested 12 hours after dosing with same results but testing 15 mins later i have perfect params, so am i actually using 20ppm calcium and 1 alk every 12 hours, i will test them again later

    Thanks so far.

Stingray im having same probs. I make stock using 1litre bottle and r.o. water with salifert buffers and add quarter litre every morning. I found calcium and alk were fighting each other..get one up and the other came down??
I now dose alk for 4 days (1 litre) then calcium for 4 days round and round and it seems to work although tonights test after w.end water change show drop in alk

It is a dry heat, yeah right !

If you are not monitoring your magnesium that might very well be your problem.
