Currently at 1.019+...have tried to add salt slowly over the past 2 days but doesn't seem like it is raising.

Using a 1 gallon pitcher, I added about 1 cup or more of salt today. I put an airstone in there. The salinity of this pitcher is way high, off the hydrometer..

Can I use small amounts of this to top off or is it too dense with salt? My tank is 75 gallons?

its doubtfull that 1gal would put any large impact on a 75 gal, but its impossible to tell without knowing the exact salinity of the pitcher.......

I would just do top-offs with normally mixed salt water instead of fresh. It will get up there.

will someone please check my logic below please

75 gallon system - using a 1 gallon pitcher of increased salinity water

Current SG is 1.019 - immediate target is 1.020 ( 1 part in 24 hours is a nice slow increase)

you need to make the water in the pitcher far to salty for the water to be able to absorb tIMO

I think, you would be better off - removing 8 gallons of water (10%) raising the SG on this 8 gallons to 1.035 - gradually adding this water back to tank and your SG will be at 1.020

    because 9 x 1.019 plus 1 x 1.035 - divided by 10 = 1.020

if the above is wrong someone let us know, please

    Ugggg

Not ready to attempt a water change, I just did a 50% or more water change on Saturday, and I am a newbie with 1 week experience....

So I am scared to add even a little that is off the hydro-high...I will probably go with the advice to put the pitcher at the level I WANT my DT to be at...gradually adding until it raises?

Ditto. Unless there is an event going on within the tank that would demand immediate action, this is the slowest, safest way to make daily increases in salinty.;D
