Hi guys,have a 72 gal bowfront with 20 gal sump,have skimmer in sump and does quite nicely,a friend want to get rid of remora skimmer.would having both be helpful?

 

Nahhh. Not of you have a good in sump skimmer now rated for more than your 75. Say 100-120 or even 150 gal. Having two skimmers fight isn't a good idea power wise or efficiency wise.
What model do you have now?

 

I agree. What skimmer are you currently running?

 

Tunze protien skimmer,works awesome.Just wanted to see if having one in tank and one in sump would be benificial.

 

I agree...no reason for it, and if you add a HOB skimmer to the tank, you run the risk of microbubbles from the skimmer.

 

Thanks,just bought my phosban reactor so i will be installing it after work,been out of the hobby for a bit but i do remember the satisfaction of having a happy and healthy aquarium. Got in late to work ,was staring at the tank with my coffee lol
