Rapid breathing

    There are several of the fish in one of FO tanks that are starting to breath rapidly. I checked all parameters and they are fine, Am 0, Ni 0, Nitrates 5
    I did a 20 water change and still rapid breathing. I am not sure what is going on...They are eating just fine..There are no other outwardly visible signs of problems...Any ideas?

    Insufficient oxygen? Could be ICH, though to have it strike all fish at once would be odd. Can you temporarily add a bubble stone to see if this solves the problems, and get a sample to your LFS for a full batch of tests? Also fill out the ASAP form if you would, there may be some other information that could point to a reason.

    I thought the ph might be it as well, checked that as well 8.4..Temp at 78..

    Are they near the surface? I initially thought low oxygen too. Do you have a sump on the tank, surface agititation?
