I am thinking about getting the solderless 6 led kit from rapid for my 4g tank.
I would have 2 seperate heat sinks with 3 leds each. It will be dimmable but not each channel.
Will this be enough light? And what layout should I use?

If I did that what would be a decent layout having 3 leds on each heatsink?

I'd personally add more colors if possible.. I'd never liked the one blue one white setup so at minimum I'd say Atleast add blue or a uv.. I did a supplemental rapid build on my fifty and I did blue, royal blue, uv, and cyan.. Looks amazing

The only problem with that is he only has 6 LED's to work with to illuminate a very small area. If he uses another color, it may cause it to look funky as the lights won't have enough spread and could leave areas of the tank washed in just that extra color

Seems reasonable to me- probably the best chance that the different colors will reach all of the tank.

If he doesn't use optics he should be find. My tank is 3 ft wide and I only have 18 leds and I don't have any Wierd spotlighting.. And actually.. Why not just get a par30 or 38..it will only be one channel but it will be much cleaner and most likely in the same price range.

I dont like the look of a par bulb and this tank is at my work on my desk so I need it as sleek as possible so it doesnt look like a eyesore. I have a small fixture that I will be retro-ing the leds heatsinks into. I was thinking about adding different colors but as said I only have a few leds to work with so Im looking for opinions.

Id either go RB-NW or RB-CW in a triangle formation.
    ____________UV______UV

Also, they aren't UV but violets. Anyway, get and extra two WW to compare to CW
