Okay guys I am looking to order my Rapid LED kit for my BioCube 29 in a few days and I have been online looking around and found a color combination that really interested me and I thought I would seek out your help.. Currently the kit comes with 50/50 Blue & White totaling 24 CREE LEDs, I saw online this light combo "8 royal blue, 4 regular blue...8 cool white, 4 neutral white", what are your thoughts and opinions?

I am planning to add a Magenta Stunner when I install my Rapid LED kit too.

This is what I am going to order soon:
Biocube 29 Dimmable Retrofit Kit (24 LED)
    DDC-01 PWM Controller
Stunner LED Strips - 6watt, 12in. - Stunner LED Strips - Aquarium LED Lights

Any help would be great! :)

First of all, congrats you are a lucky person. I would just go with half royal blue half white since most of the cool Colors will come from the stunner.:)

Very true but wouldn't the larger spectrum be better for coral growth? Stunner is just for looks. So I was thinking the larger spectrum would be good for growth.

Depends. are you going to be able to dim it? a 1:1 mix will give a more whitish look similar to a 10,000k bulb. a 2:1 mix will give you a nice mix around 14-15k.
I use 25 royal blue, 2 reds, 7 cool white and 6 neutral white. it gives a nice 14k look. I ordered UV diodes over a week ago and the turquoise to add some more color to the mix.

Personally, if your going to be building a retrofit kit for your hood, skip the stunner strip and order some more colors to add to your build. That way you can get ultimate control with the ddc controller i see your trying to order, it'll be cheaper to add like 4-6 colored leds to your build versus 50 bucks plus shipping for a 6 watt strip. It all depends on if you want a bluer or whiter look. If you want more of a blue hue then do 2:1. Maybe 18 blue 6 white? 16 blue 8 white?

I do plan on dimming each driver with my Sunrise/Sunset Controller..

Right now I have a BioCube 29 Hood with NanoTuners 4.36 144 Watt Compact and everything looks washed out and just blah. I really want to install a light that will make my coral color POP and grow corals better.

So basically I would like to see colors standout finally in my tank. :)

The Royal Blues will certainly make your colors pop, adding red will help bring out more color, and adding violet colors will help further.

Rapid has some great kits for a biocube.

So would the color combo with the Stunner work then?

I really do plan on the Stunner, I know you mentioned about buying other LEDs but I like the Stunner for other reasons.

it should work. Note the leds you will use for the build are 3w ones. Versus the sunner uses much smaller ones. Your lights will overpower the sunners. You may need two of the sunner strips,

I never thought about that... I have a lot of things to think about. I just don't want my new LED lights to look like my current light.

    Thanks!
