Fist of all, what size of the tank?? 90 or 75 maybe??

Here is my mock up on high tech card board of LED placement:
    Quarter: Cool White
    Dime: Royal Blue
    Nickel: Neutral White
    Marked quarter: Blue
    Penny: UV
    Marked nickel: Turquoise

I built two of these on 6x16" heatsink.

Here is my LED build thread :)

    I hope this helps.

Ok..run in to a small problem according to the diy kit...i'm supposed to run 12led/driver... i have 14cw led that i hope to run on one eln-60-48d driver. According to rapidled info Mean Well ELN-60-48D dimmable driver - Rapid LED it can run up to 14LED. Can I just do that?

I like exactlyobp's design....I think running DIY LED's in small clusters helps the colors to blend better than an overall widespread. Good Luck!

On a side note- I've changed my configuration three times so far :)...hours of soldering, but worth it for the poor man that can't afford the high dollar offerings on the market today....perhaps in the future ;)

I agreed!! Here is what I come up with...and still more room to add more LED! ;D

    Yellow = 14CW, Pink= 20RB, Green=8UV, Black=2Red on 4.25"x16"

    Total 44LED

Next question is how high should I hang it?

Your mock-up loos good. These Y-shaped hanging kits would work great if you want to hang the fixtures from your ceiling.

Y-shaped Hanging Kit - Rapid LED

If not, you can still use them, but hanging from a light-arm, made of metal conduit which could be screwed to the rear of your aquarium cabinet.
