I had some some really beautiful yellow polyps that were starting to drop off and spread nicely. But I had a major calamity a couple weeks ago in which I was left with 25% of the MT full for a few hours. Tank is recovering after the die off and 90% of corals survived. But since then Ive ogtten algae blooms and cyano in a couple areas. I noticed my yellow polyps were not opening and breaking off. A day later I looked closer and saw their stalks coated in red. Even closer I looked and realized it was res slime, just on the stems. None on rock.

Apparently its chosing out the polyps. Any ideas on how to get the slime off without damaging the polyps? Im about to put them in a separate tank and dose with that "Red SLime Remover".

You could try a turkey baster and try to suck out the cyano off the polyps.but you will need to find the cyano source(to completly rid it)...yellow polyps are pretty tuff, the should make a recovery.

    Hi
You could remove the red slime by siphoning it off from rocks. For the polyps use a soft paint brush (the kind that kids use for painting) to lightly brush the slime algae off from the polyps. Place the polyps in agood cross flow area. You could also give it a dip treatment to ensure that there are no infections on bruised polyps that are causing the slime to grow on the polyps.
