I was just wondering how people rate their sucsesses in their tanks.
is it Stability, growth ,or just the longjevity of the tank.

For me its the stability of the tanks inhabitants

It's all about growth for me. It's a great way to determine whether or not your tank is stable. :)

Yea, just keeping things alive is not enough. If they are actually able to GROW, that's a different story!

well ive been going for a year now and never eevn lost so much as a hermit crab, everything ive added to my tank is still living.and growing. except a firefish i had since the begining i added a yellow tang , he killed the firefish within the week, i took the tang back to the store, and got a 6 line to replace both that was months ago. never lost any corals or nothing else.... only now am i begining to have a lha problem that tangster is helping me rid. its been pretty smooth ride, but expensive, so id say for a noob i was fairly sucsessful.

oh and no they not just alive, they grow plenty fast,

Growth, color, stable water parameters...oh and that "I want one" look that everyone that comes in my house gets on their face.

I can see Color being a major indicator :)

As a planted freshwater guy, growth and lack of algae :)
