my rbta got sucked into my mp20 today. the mp20 shut off automatically during the night i assume cause it blinking red and green this morning so i don't think it did much damaged to the nem.

nothing looks shredded or anything, it just looks shriveled up and the tentacles are retracted. would it recover?

I just posted to someone the other day why you should not put a anemone into a reef or Fish tank power heads and overflow being the two major reasons . The MP20 like the MP40 will shut off anytime there is added drag above the set running speed .. I'd set myself up an species specific system or get rid of the anemone..

damage has been done. theres plenty of people that kept nem's in their reef tank with no problems, i'm apparently not one of those people.

Just because other people do it doesn't mean it's a good idea. :)

If it's not physically damaged I don't know if there will be any problems with it recovering, if it's in good health and your water quality is still good.

Put the foam cover on your MP20 that should solve the problem.

I'm generally with Tangster on anemones in tanks though. You need to design the system around the anemone or take the risk of killing it and possibly the whole tank.

Your anemone should be fine even if it is torn up a bit. Just as long as it isnt felaid. They recover fast and are very hardy as long as water quality is good. As far as nems in reef tanks, i agree they are easily doable. However you have to suit their needs so they dont wonder around the tank. If they are moving something is wrong and that will cause more problems. Research your type of anemone, where it likes to be placed, what type of flow it likes, and lighting requirements. If you suit these needs they wont ever wonder as long as something isnt bothering it and you wont have further powerhead probs.
