Hate to be the one to say it, but it might be time to invest in a doser and controller. That will add small amounts multiple times per day, providing stable parameters which would be a major benefit to your entire tank.

I've been thinking the same thing. Im upgrading my 55 to a 75 drilled by christmas so I think I'll price out dosers too. I'm thinking about a chiller as well, my tank hovers at 80.5 to 81.5 and would rather keep it at 78-79 degrees.

I wouldn't buy a chiller just yet. Those temps are not dramatic- the natural reefs get much warmer. Also, you might not have the same issue with the larger tank. :)

Nems are holding on but lost a lot of color. There grey with a hint of red left. They both took food so I guess that's good. I'm cutting my halide photo period back to 6 hours. My params are great so I'm thinking maybe to much light? I figured they'd move if they weren't happy but they have a solid foot hold plus they can duck away from the light.

It is not happy about something. I think Mr. Bill may have hit it with the alk swings. Perhaps that in combination with the lighting. I may not feed it for a bit because I've read many times that feeding can be detrimental when stressed. Just a thought.

Nems are still not happy or looking good. I'm thinking ghere goners for sure. I'm gonna give nems a rest for a while if these perish.
