So I left to go to the store to buy materials to hang my new led fixture, and come back half an hour later and my nem looks like this! Did he die? Amm. And nitrite are 0, nitrate spiked up to 20 or so, its usually at 10ish. Temp is 78. Currently sitting about 6" below 4 t5 bulbs. Also, he has been in his home for about a week and a half now. I fed him tiny pieces of bay scallops every other day, enriched with selcon.

I'm not an expert on RBTA but that doesn't look good.

Similarly to coral, anemone's often drastically shrink in size to expel waste. This also occurs if they decide to move. It looks fine to me. Indications of an unhealthy anemone include such things as: lack of stickiness to it's foot and/or tentacles, gaping mouth and loss of tissue.

Thats just fine. They do that a day or so after they have eaten a good meal, or every few weeks. By the morning it will be its old bubbly tippy self.

Well, you all appear to be correct (thankfully)! I'm a newbie nem (and reef) keeper, so I apologize for the unnecessary freak out, but I really appreciate you all chiming in.

As of right before posting this:

Funny. Mine was doing the same thing when I got home. Reading the responses to this thread reassured me and sure enough it is looking normal again.
